‘El Turco’ is on the verge of history in more than one way at Jerez as the field gathers for the 2025 season finale

The final round of the 2025 MOTUL FIM Superbike World Championship is upon us with the historic Circuito de Jerez - Angel Nieto, Andalucia hosting the Pirelli Spanish Round. Ahead of track action, there are some big milestones on the horizon for several riders. We’ve gathered the biggest stats below…

348 – After Estoril, Ducati are running a streak of 348 races in the points, the best ever. With points in the first two Jerez races, they will be the first one with a streak of 350.

293 – In Race 2 at Aragon and at Estoril, the riders on the field summed up 293 wins, just one short of the all-time record of 294 set at Donington earlier this year.

88 – Bautista and Razgatlioglu are the first pair of riders with 88 podiums shared. They set the record at Estoril. With Razgatlioglu going to MotoGP, this record will remain unchanged for a while, as the next couple, among the ones that will race in 2026, is Bautista-Bulega at 26.

30/31 – If Razgatlioglu and Bulega finish 1-2 once, in that order, would tie the record for number of identical 1-2 finishes (currently 31; Rea and Davies).

28 – In 2019, Jerez became the 28th track that Yamaha won at. The 27th track had been Silverstone, nine years earlier, when Cal Crutchlow achieved a double. At the moment, Yamaha have won at 34 tracks.

25 – The manufacturer with most podiums at Jerez is Ducati with 25, followed by Kawasaki with 18.

24 – Razgatlioglu is on his best podium streak: 24 races (since Cremona: only winner or second). He is tied with Rea (Laguna Seca 2018, Race 1 to Imola 2019, Superpole Race). He can equal the all-time record of Colin Edwards: on the podium in all the 25 races of the 2002 season.

24 – BMW are on a streak of 24 podiums as well, their best one. With 3 more, at 27 they will equal the 7th all-time streak, set by Kawasaki from Jerez 2019, Race 2 to Jerez 2020, Superpole Race. In WorldSBK history, only Ducati and Kawasaki set streaks of at least 27 podiums; Honda stopped at 25 with the aforementioned streak of Edwards in 2002.

23 – The 23rd of February is the only race day of this season without Toprak Razgatlioglu scoring points. Since then, when the Championship headed to Europe, he scored 560 points to Bulega’s 479.

18/20 – Bulega has recorded 18 second places this year (all behind Razgatlioglu), just two from the season record of Razgatlioglu, who in 2023 was 20 times second, 18 behind Bautista.

17 – Bulega at Estoril equalled the third most successful Italian rider, Frankie Chili. In the first two spots are Marco Melandri at 22 and Max Biaggi at 21. At the age of Bulega, no one of the aforementioned had scored a single WorldSBK win.

14-12 – Ducati are the most successful manufacturer at Jerez with 14 wins, more than the sum of their competitors, Aprilia and Kawasaki (4 each), Yamaha (3), BMW (1).

14 – The last 14 wins here (starting from 2019) came only from the first two grid spots.

10 – Jerez had so far 10 different polesitters; only one rider was able to record two pole positions here: Tom Sykes (2015, 2016).

10 – Last year, Razgatlioglu became the first rider with 10 podiums here, taking the record of 9 from Jonathan Rea. At Jerez, no less than 20 riders scored a podium out of 27 races run.

10/11 – 10 years out of 11, we had a rider winning twice at Jerez: 1990 (Roche); 2013 (Laverty); 2014 (Melandri); 2016 (Davies); 2017 (Rea); 2019 (Bautista: Race 1 and Superpole Race); 2020 (Redding: Race 1 and 2); 2021 (Razgatlioglu); 2023 (Bautista: 3 times); 2024 (Bulega: Race 1 and SPR).

9 – Only one win here didn’t come from the first six grid places: that was Rea, winning from 9th in 2017, Race 2.

5-3 – Until 2023, the record of wins here was split by Jonathan Rea and Chaz Davies, with 3 each. Bautista then, with a triple, increased his tally from 2 to 5. With the addition of Bulega, the Jerez winners list increased to 11 last year.

5 – The best winning streak for a manufacturer at this track belongs to Ducati: 5 from 2023 Race 1 to last year’s Superpole Race; it was broken by BMW, winning Race 2 with Razgatlioglu.

5-4 – Last year, Ducati edged out Kawasaki for poles: 5-4.

2 - Only Italian and Turkish wins this year. Last time with only 2 winning countries is 2017: Great Britain (25) and Italy (1: Melandri in Misano, Race 2).
